Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club (RHLCC) displayed tremendous grit and defensive resolve in a nail-biting low-scoring affair, narrowly falling to a 3-wicket defeat against Majestics in their Commonwealth Cricket League Division 1 Afternoon match at Cunningham Park 73rd Ave. Despite defending a modest target, #TheBlueNation launched a relentless bowling attack that pushed the opposition to the absolute limit.
After Majestics won the toss and elected to bowl, RHLCC faced tough conditions at the crease. Captain Keron Sewnarine provided an exceptional exhibition of aggressive batting, counter-attacking the opposition’s attack with total authority. Sewnarine blasted 39 runs off just 25 deliveries, striking at a blistering rate of 156.00 with 3 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Leon Mohabir anchored the middle order with a resilient, hard-fought 16 off 26 balls, while lower-order contributions from Raj Balgobin (9), Mahendra Parsaram (9), Tamesh Persaud (9), and Jamiel Jackman (8 off 6 balls) pushed the total forward. RHLCC was ultimately bowled out for 110 runs in 22 overs.
