Richmond Hill Liberty turned in another Winning Weekend in the New York National League’s Premier divisions. On Saturday international star, Chanderpaul Hemraj led a 178 runs victory with an unbeaten century. Latchman Bisram bagged 6 wickets on Sunday to spearhead a 145 runs win. Richard Allen & Shiv Sangalemaa also struck half-centuries on Saturday while Trevor Henry and skipper, Keron Sewnarine did the same on Sunday.

ON SATURDAY: RHL vs Queens United Academy

In the NYNCL Rockaway Premier Division Saturday League, Richmond Hill Liberty put on an outstanding display of batting to secure a dominant victory by 178 runs against Queens United Academy on July 22, 2023.

Richmond Hill Liberty was asked to bat first after the toss fell in favor of QUA. Their opening batsmen, Chandrapaul Hemraj and Shiv Sangalemaa, set the tone for the innings with an explosive partnership. Hemraj was particularly destructive, scoring a magnificent 105 runs off just 51 balls, including 4 fours and a staggering 12 sixes. Sangalemaa also contributed significantly with a brisk 60 runs off 43 balls, smashing 6 fours and 3 sixes. The duo’s partnership helped Richmond Hill Liberty amass a formidable total.

The middle-order continued the onslaught, with Mahendra Parasram and Richard Allen chipping in with valuable contributions of 32 runs off 25 balls and 59 runs off 36 balls, respectively. Randy Boodhoo added quick runs towards the end with 29 runs off 19 balls. Richmond Hill Liberty finished their innings with an imposing score of 312 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 30 overs.

Queens United Academy bowlers struggled to contain the run flow, and the extras conceded, including 5 wides and 5 no-balls, further burdened their efforts. Ajay Khandelwal was the most successful bowler, picking up 2 wickets, while Justin Mingo, Jonathan Mingo, and Rahi Bhatia took a wicket each.

In response, Queens United Academy faced a challenging target and struggled to build partnerships. Naveer Ramsarran fought a lone battle, scoring a resilient 78 runs off 72 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. However, he lacked support from the other end as Richmond Hill Liberty bowlers kept the pressure on.

Richard Allen led the bowling attack for Richmond Hill Liberty, claiming 2 wickets. Vedeshpaul Singh, Satish Dwarka, Tegana Mc Kenzie and Keron Sewnarine provided valuable support with 1 wicket each.

Queens United Academy managed to score 134 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 30 overs, falling well short of the target. Chandrapaul Hemraj’s explosive century and the collective bowling effort from Richmond Hill Liberty players proved to be the defining factors in their comprehensive victory.

ON SUNDAY: RHL vs Rangers CC

Richmond Hill Liberty CC put on a dominant display in the LAX NETWORK QUEENS DBA DUNKIN 40 OVERS SUNDAY COMPETITION 2023, securing a comprehensive 145-run victory against Rangers Cricket Club on July 23, 2023.

Winning the toss, Richmond Hill Liberty CC elected to bat first. However, their start was not as expected, with opener Latchman Bisram departing early, caught by Anwer Hossain off Joy Rahman’s bowling. But Trevor Henry stepped up and played a splendid innings, scoring 79 runs off 82 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. He found support from Surendra Ramcharitar, who contributed 21 runs, and Altaaf Habibulla, who added 35 runs to the total. Keron Sewnarine provided the late flourish, smashing 59 runs off just 33 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes. Richmond Hill Liberty CC posted a formidable total of 274 runs for 8 in their allotted 40 overs.

Rangers Cricket Club bowlers struggled to find their rhythm, conceding a significant number of wides (17) and a no-ball. Hasanul Karim was the most successful bowler for Rangers, claiming three wickets, while Joy Rahman, Tanvir Ahmed Sami, and Anwer Hossain picked up a wicket each.

In response, Rangers Cricket Club faced an uphill battle to chase down the mammoth target. Their innings never got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Joy Rahman was the top scorer for Rangers with a patient 32 runs off 43 balls. Latchman Bisram turned out to be the chief destroyer for Richmond Hill Liberty CC, taking an impressive six-wicket haul. He was supported by Jamiel Jackman, who claimed two wickets, and Altaaf Habibulla, Leon Mohabir, and Vedeshpaul Singh, who picked up a wicket each.

The Rangers Cricket Club batsmen struggled to deal with the disciplined bowling attack of Richmond Hill Liberty CC, and their innings folded for 129 runs in 27.2 overs.

Latchman Bisram’s outstanding 6-wicket haul earned him the Player of the Match award for his crucial contributions with both bat and ball.
