#TheBlueNationBuzz: Yadram’s Back-To-Back Centuries Lit Up Week 10

We have entered the cross-over stage of the New York National Cricket League tournaments where the ODD ranking team in the group plays the EVEN ranked sides of the other group. #TheBlueNation’s Liberty Lions winning streak continues while Richmond Hill Liberty had a comparatively better week as they earned two crucial points against Meeri Peeri because the match between the two sides was forfeit when RHL was dominating the proceedings. Bhaskar Yardram was the key performer of the week with his all-around performance including his second century of the season and a 3-for against Game Cchanger’z. Moreover, Dino Chooweenam 47 and Altaf Habibullah 3 wickets were notable performances of the week.

NYNCL 30 overs Saturday Tournament 2021

Liberty Lions: 285/9(25.0 Overs) Won by 2 Runs Against Game Changer’z: 283/9(25.0 Overs)

We encountered a nail-biting finish in which Liberty Lions had the last laugh as they cliched the game by the barest of margins. Liberty Lions opted to bat first after calling the coin correctly in a game that was reduced to 25 overs per innings. Syed Abdullah and Richard Ramdeen took the team to a flying start as they piled up 60 runs in just 5 overs. Yadram stepped in when Ramdeen left in the sixth over and from there on we saw a brutal display of batting as he scored a century at the strike rate of 246. Yadram’s splendid outing ensured enough runs on the board to challenge any side. He got out after scoring a superb 116 on just 47 balls. This century follow up his unbeaten 105 last week against Meeri Peeri. A couple of handy scores in the end by Satish Dwarka and Kevin Ramdeen took the team total to 285 for 9 in 25 overs. Game Changer’z were asked to chase at a hefty rate of 11.5 and they too put up a good fight, led by Nosherwan Adil (82 off 56 balls), Umar Farooq (70 off 31 balls), and Saquib Shahid (51 off 21 balls), to take the game to the last over. It was again Bhaskar Yadram who made the difference with his 3 wickets in 5 overs. Liberty Lions had to defend 9 runs in the last over and Syed Abdullah gave away just 6 to secure the win. Bhaskar Yadram was awarded the MOM award for his brilliant presentation of cricketing skills.

Majestic CC: 270/10(37.3 Overs) Won by 100 Runs Against Richmond Hill Liberty: 170/10(26.1 Overs)

Majestic CC won the toss and elected to bat first and a century upfront by Chris Patandin jolted the bowling unit of RHL as they failed to pick early wickets. RHL had to wait until the 14th over of the innings when Leon Mohabir provided the much-needed breakthrough to remove Derick Narine from the scene. Wickets at regular intervals wrapped up Majesty CC innings for 270 in the 36th over, Altaf Habibullah was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets to his name. In response, RHL failed to capitalise on the decent start provided by their openers Dino Chooweenam and Naresh Rambharos who scored 47 and 40 respectively. Apart from Altaaf Habibulla and Tegana Mc Kenzie, none of the following batsmen were able to show against the opposition side. RHL were bowled out for 170 in the 27th over of their innings to notch their second consecutive loss.
