LIBERTY LIONS: 249/4(30.0 OVERS) beat CRICKET BOSS XI: 116/10(30.0 OVERS) by 133 runs
Liberty Lions rectified all the mistakes they committed in their previous outing with a thumping victory over Cricket Boss XI by 133 runs at Baisley ground. Although they were up against a side named Boss, #TheBlueNation actually Bossed the proceeding throughout the 5 hours of match time. Liberty Lions’ captain Richard Ramdeen won the toss and decided to bat first in their week 12 game against Dwayne Shaw led Cricket Boss XI. The opening pair comprised of captain himself Richard Ramdeen and Shiv Sangalemaa who saw off the new ball threat with cautious 23 runs in the first five overs. Liberty Lions lost two quick wickets in the sixth over as Shiv Sangalemaa was dismissed for 13 and Danesh Deonarain for Duck by Pardeep Singh. Ramdeen then took the matters into his own hands and played a captain innings amid turmoil as he brushed off the pressure by scoring runs at a hefty rate. Mahendra Parasram was next to fall but his wicket in the fifteenth over proved to be a blessing in disguise as it allowed Satish Dwarka onto the crease. Richard left the scene in the 20th over but not long before scoring 78 off 56 including six 6’s and four 4’s. Liberty Lions reaped 113 runs in their last ten overs courtesy of an unbeaten partnership between Satish Dwarka and Paul Wintz. Satish thrilled everyone with his batting pyrotechnics as he swung the bat freely and lustily accumulating 89 runs at a healthy strike rate of 158.93, while he was complemented by Paul Wintz who scored 34 off runs. Liberty Lions amassed 249 runs in their quota of 30 overs asking Cricket Boss XI a challenging total to chase.
In their quest to mount an uphill task Cricket Boss XI batsmen were challenged by a lethal bowling unit of Liberty Lions. Andrew Tomby took 4 wickets upfront to dismantle the opposition ranks along with Christopher Blucher who grasped 3 wickets in the process. Cricket Boss were bowled out for 116 on the last ball of their innings. Not even a single batman was able to resist the disciplinary line & length bowled by the Liberty Lions bowling unit. Satish Dwarka collected the man of the match award for his splendid showcase of batting skills which took the game away from the opposition in a blink of an eye. RICHMOND HILL LIBERTY: 111/2(11.0 OVERS) beat BRONX CRICKET CLUB: 106/10(28.1 OVERS) by 8 wickets
Bronx Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first but failed to pose a competitive total as wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals. Only resilience came from the bat of their captain Sabbir Chowdhury, who was the top scorer with 45 runs while the rest failed to cross the two-digit mark. An outstanding display of bowling by Altaaf Habibulla who bagged a fifer giving away just 13 runs and Leon Mohabir grasping 3 wickets to restricted Bronx Cricket Club to just 106 for 10 in 28.1 overs
In reply, Dino Chooweenam stunned the opposition side with his rampant shots scoring 72 runs in 31 balls with 8 sixes to his name. They chased down 107 in the 11 overs, collecting 2 easy points in the season. Chooweenam was named the man of the match for his brilliant unbeaten 72 runs.
