#TheBlueNation continues to dominate the ongoing New York Cricket 30 & 40 overs leagues as we enter week 8 of the tournament. Trevor Henry scored a century 100(75) and half-centuries for Altaaf Habibulla 52(36) Naresh Rambharos 52(55) decorate the batting charts while Raymond Ramrattan impressed with the ball picking up a five-for (5/37).

Richmond Hill Liberty (RHL): 308/9(40.0 Overs) Won by 206 Runs Against New York Centurions CC (NYC): 102/10(21.5 Overs)

RHL made full use of their decision to bat first after winning the toss against NYC on Sunday, June 27. After losing Azeem Khan early for 8, Rambharos and Henry added 67 runs for the second wicket. Rambharos lost his wicket to Marlon Mangroo after scoring almost a run-a-ball fifty followed by Raymond Ramrattan’s wicket for 12. Altaaf Habibulla and Trevor Henry then took the charge and piled runs at a hefty rate as the duo added 102 runs in their partnership. Habibulla left with 52 runs in 36 balls while Henry marched towards his century. In the process, RHL collected enough runs to threaten the opposition ranks. Trevor Henry finished with 100 runs to his name at the strike rate of 133.33 and RHL managed to accumulate 308 for 9 in their 40 overs. In return, NYC was blown away by RHL’s bowling unit led by Raymond Ramrattan who grasped five-for giving away just 37 runs. Moreover, Habibulla and Andrew Tomby collected two wickets to wrap the opposition side on just 102 in the 22nd over of the innings. Trevor Henry was awarded the MOM award for his beautiful display of batting.

Richmond Hill Liberty: 132/5(17.0 Overs) Win By 5 Wickets Against Pak Tigers Cc: 131/10(29.0 Overs)

Pak tigers opted to challenge the RHL bowlers as they chose to bat first after calling the coin correctly. RHL restricted the opposition ranks as only three batsmen managed to enter the double-figure mark. Pak Tigers scored only 131 runs in 29 overs courtesy of a valiant effort by the RHL bowlers. Michael Sultan, Dino Chooweenam, Ramesh Persaud, Videsh Singh all had a share of 2 wickets each in disrupting the batting line. Chasing 133 RHL lost their openers early but their bowling effort had ensured that this does not affect their cause. Terrence Madramootoo’s blazing 31 off 16 balls not only earned him a MOM award but proved the last nail in the coffin for Pak tigers as RHL cruised to victory with a heap of overs remaining. RHL remains the invincible side of the Group A table with 16 points and 8 straight victories.
