Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club’s (RHLCC) two-time, reigning, Most Valuable Player (MVP), Dino Chooweenam, blasted off on the highest note possible in the 2021 season’s opening weekend. The imposing, master blaster hammered 181 runs and returned to pick up a 5 wicket in RHLCC’s New York National Cricket League (NYNCL), Sunday opener. His highlight performance headlined a clean sweep, winning weekend, for the club’s three teams across the Saturday and Sunday leagues.

RHL batting first after winning the toss: 348 for 6 off 35 overs. Dino Chooweenam 181 (19 x 6, 9 x 4), Altaaf Habibulla 52 (1 x 6, 4 x 4), Naresh Rambharos 50 (2 x 6, 7 x 4). Sandeep Singh 2 for 55 off 6 overs and Parminder Singh 2 for 69 off 6 overs.
Punjab Lions chasing 232 all out. Jagchanpreet Singh 65 (7 x 4), Hardev Raju 49 (3 x 4, 3 x 6). Dino Chooweenam 5 for 46 off 6.4 overs, Tegana McKenzie 2 for 47 off 7 overs and a wicket each for Jamiel Jackman and Trevor Henry.
Dino Chooweenam’s 181 sets a new individual, club record for the highest score. He passed his 174 set in 2020. His 5-wicket haul in combination with a century is the first in the club’s history.
