NYNCL Saturday 30 Overs 2022

Richmond Hill Liberty Club 313/6 (Keron Sewnarine 105, Dino Chooweenam 48) BEAT King’smen CC 180/7 (Renwick Batson 3-30) by 133 runs

Dino Chooweenam and Azeemuddin Khan opened the batting for RHL after the side won the toss and elected to bat first against King’smen CC. Chooweenam made a strong statement with his bold batting upfront and setting the mood for the following batters. He mustered 48 off 22 including 5 fours and 4 sixes taking the team’s score to 71 in just 6 overs. Although the team’s run rate saw a dip once Chooweenam departed but they still dominated the proceedings. It was Keron Sewnarine’s innings which defined the outcome of the game in the first half, coming at the number 5 position he showcased an astonishing display of hard-hitting and nabbed a century in the blink of an eye. The batter reached the milestone in 54 deliveries at an unbelievable strike rate of 194.44. He was well supported by other batters from the other end. In the end, RHL posted a mammoth total of 313 for 6 in their quote of 30 overs.

Defending a massive total of 313 RHL had to do nothing extraordinary to get the desired results. They continuously applied pressure and the opposition gave up the winning thoughts within no time. Bisram removed the openers cheaply inside the first five overs while Chooweenam removed Himanshu in the 10th over when King’smen had scored only 74. The fourth wicket showed resistance but an unfruitful one as they could match the demanding run rate and once it was removed the rest fell like a pack of cards. King’smen could only manage 180 in reply to 313 and RHL won by massive 133 runs. Batson bagged 3 for 30, Bisram  2-41 while a piece each for Chooweenam and Sultan.

Keron Sewnarine was awarded the MOM award for his unbeaten Century at an unbelievable strike rate.
