Rikhi racks up 5 consecutive 50s for RHLCC, double-century in NJ league

Dominique Rikhi

Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club’s (RHLCC) captain, Dominique Rikhi, continued his scintillating form in Eastern American Cricket Association (EACA) matches with a fifth consecutive 50-plus score on June 30th. His knock of 66 came one day after Rikhi carried his bat to score a mammoth double century playing for Piscataway in New Jersey’s Millinium Cricket League.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first Rikhi wasted no time racing to his half century in just 24 balls. He hit 9 fours and 2 sixes on his way past fifty and would go on to strike one more boundary and maximum before he was adjudged leg-before-wicket on 66. Dinon Chooweenam, who is also having a prolific summer for RHLCC, complemented Rikhi with an unbeaten 39 off 25 balls to help #TheBlueNation boys race past 100 in just 7.1 overs.

The batting storm continued into the 11th over when RHLCC was on 124 for 2 before an actual hail and rain storm, freakish at that, caused players to scatter off the field to seek shelter in their cars. Lasting just 20 minutes the downpour was sufficient to force an abandonment of the game, the second consecutive no result for RHLCC.

Rikhi’s run with the bat of five consecutive 50-plus scores; 63, 122, 77*, 91 and 66, did one better than Trevor Henry’s 2015 run of four consecutive half-centuries for then Liberty Sports Club. In addition to the 437 runs Rikhi has scored so far for RHLCC he has racked up 782 runs for Pascataway in New Jersey’s Millennium Cricket League. His exploits headlined by Saturday, June 29th’s unbeaten 225 off 120 balls. Rikhi garnished his third century of the season for Pascatway with 19 fous and 16 maximums. He followed that up with 152 against Global Cricket Club in the same league on Saturday July 13th.

After missing RHLCC’s last game this past Sunday, Rikhi will be back in action this Sunday for #TheBlueNation when they clash with Galaxy Cricket Club at the Baisley Cage.
