Wicket-keeper batsman Francis Mendonca has been named Liberty Sports Club’s 2014 Most Valuable Player. The crafty right-hander scored 417 for the New York based club at and average of 41.70 during eleven 40-over innings. His runs tally was accented with one century and two fifties. The Guyanese born Mendonca, backed up his batting with calculated glovework when he accounted for 15 dismissals over the season.
Mendonca also score 112 runs over five T20 innings in his first year with the club while accounting for 2 dismissals behind the stumps.
The statistics were accumulated during LSC’s participation in New York Region’s elite Eastern American Cricket Association 40-Over and T20 Competitions.
Mendonca has followed up his 2014 stand out season with 262 runs after 7 innings in the Club’s 2015 40-Over matches so far this year. This includes 1 century and 1 half-century.
