Latchman Bisram (82), Christopher Blucher (64*), and Trevor Henry (54) also struck half-centuries on Sunday, however, Queens United Sports Club’s batting was too got for #TheBlueNation in the NYNCL Sunday Premier competition.
ON SATURDAY – NYC 11 Stars vs RHL
In a dominant display, Richmond Hill Liberty emerged victorious by 120 runs against NYC 11 Stars in the NYNCL Rockaway Saturday Premier Division. Richmond Hill Liberty won the toss and elected to bat first, aiming to set a challenging target for their opponents.
Richmond Hill Liberty started their innings with confidence, with Chandrapaul Hemraj and Shiv Sangalemaa providing a solid foundation. They built a partnership of 31 runs before Sangalemaa was caught by Qamar Zaman off the bowling of Dwayne Shaw. Hemraj continued to play aggressively, scoring 23 runs before being bowled by Qamar Zaman. Azeemuddin Khan, batting at number 4 played a brilliant knock of 57 runs, including four boundaries and three sixes, to steer the team to a competitive total. Keron Sewnarine also made a valuable contribution of 32 runs. Vedeshpaul Singh provided a late flourish, smashing 48 runs off just 21 balls, including four boundaries and four sixes. Richmond Hill Liberty concluded their innings with a formidable score of 214 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 25 overs.
In response, NYC 11 Stars struggled to build partnerships and lost wickets at regular intervals. Their top-order batsmen failed to make significant contributions, with only Antonio Rooplal showing some resistance with 29 runs. Andrew Tomby was the pick of the bowlers for Richmond Hill Liberty, claiming 3 wickets for just 17 runs in his 5 overs. Kristopher Ramsaran also had a stellar performance, taking 4 wickets for 18 runs. Keron Sewnarine, with his economical bowling, picked up 1 wicket for 18 runs. NYC 11 Stars were eventually bowled out for 94 runs in 19.5 overs, falling short of the target by 120 runs.
Richmond Hill Liberty’s bowlers maintained a disciplined line and length, restricting the opposition batsmen and taking wickets at regular intervals. They were well supported by the fielders, who took crucial catches to dismiss the NYC 11 Stars batsmen.

ON SUNDAY – QUSC vs RHL
Queens United Sport Club emerged victorious with a 5-wicket win over Richmond Hill Liberty in an exciting encounter. Richmond Hill Liberty won the toss and elected to bat first, aiming to set a challenging target for their opponents.
Trevor Henry and Latchman Bisram provided a solid start for Richmond Hill Liberty CC with a partnership of 121 runs. Henry played a fine knock, scoring 54 runs off 78 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Bisram was the mainstay of the innings, scoring an impressive 84 runs off 82 balls, including nine fours and two sixes. Christopher Blucher also contributed with a quickfire, unbeaten 64 runs off 55 balls. He found a partner in Tegana McKenzie who hammered an unbeaten 26 off 18 balls as Richmond Hill Liberty CC finished their innings at 265 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 40 overs.
In response, Queens United got off to a solid start, thanks to an outstanding century by Romaine Morris. Morris scored a brilliant 128 runs off just 85 balls, smashing 13 fours and five sixes. Oraine Williams and Aldaine Thomas provided valuable contributions of 41 runs each. Despite losing some wickets towards the end, QUSC chased down the target with ease, reaching 268 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 30.3 overs.
For Richmond Hill Liberty CC, Trevor Henry picked up two wickets, while Latchman Bisram and Leon Mohabir chipped in with one wicket each.
Overall, it was an impressive display of batting by both teams, with Latchman Bisram and Romaine Morris standing out with their excellent performances. Queens United Sport Club Inc. showed great resilience in their dominating chase and clinched a well-deserved victory by 5 wickets.
