A win and a defeat for the Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club (RHL) in Week 10 of the ongoing season. They won their Saturday game against Bacnhan CC while losing 40 overs game on Sunday to Elite Cricket Club. Azeemuddin Khan (67), Christopher Blucher (54), Vedeshpaul Singh (56), and Keron Sewnarine(50) contributed with the bat with their half centuries. On the other hand, Michael Sultan 3/16, Altaaf Habibulla 3/38, and Keron Sewnarine 2/37 inspired the bowling ranks.

The openers put up a good show after RHL won the toss and decided to bat first against Bachan CC. Christopher Blucher and Azeemuddin Khan batted superbly for their half centuries, laying down a strong foundation for their side. Coincidentally, in the fifteenth over, both the batters were dismissed in the same over by Subhas. Khan scored 67 off just 41 deliveries, including 7 fours and 3 sixes, while Blucher amassed 54 off 45 balls. Renwick Batson was amongst the runs as well, scoring 45 off 40. RHL couldn’t capitalize on the start provided to them as wickets continued to fall, but Tegana Mc Kenzie’s cameo, in the end, ensured enough runs on the board to defend. He remained unbeaten with 29 at a strike rate of 170. At the conclusion of the innings, RHL scored 237 for 8, asking Bachan for a run rate of almost 8.
In reply Bachan CC began cautiously, the openers collected 77 in 11 overs before Michael Sultan ripped through the gates of Javed Karim. Once the top order departed, the middle order tried to show some resilience but, in the process, lost too many overs and in the end, RHL’s bowling unit proved too good for them. Bachan CC could only score 202 for 9 in their quota of overs. Michael Sultan was the pick of the bowlers, bagging 3 for 16 in 6 overs. Altaaf Habibulla took 3 for 38 while Keron Sewnarine grasped 2 crucial wickets.
Azeemuddin Khan was awarded the MOM award for his blistering half-century. This win has taken RHL to 2nd spot in the points table in their respective group.

A rare failure for RHL batters after they won the toss and elected to bat first. Vedeshpaul Singh stood his ground after the openers went cheaply, but wickets continued to tumble from one end. He scored a well-crafted half-century, 56 off 62 balls, before being involved in a run-out dismissal. After Singh’s wicket, Keron Sewnarine, took the charge and bravely dealt with the opposition’s onslaught. He collected his 50 at a strike rate of 119. RHL was eventually bowled out for 178/10 in 37.2 overs.
RHL bowlers tried everything in their arsenal to defend a low total, but ECC had the better of them. Chasing 179, the openers scored a cautious 79, leaving with 100 runs in just 30 overs. Samuel Raghubir was the first to strike, dismissing Rajendra Chandrika for 45. Vedeshpaul Singh then chipped in, taking well-settled Francis Mendonca’s wicket for 27. Leon Mohabir and Mohindra Boodram took a wicket each, but in the process, ECC scored enough runs to complete the desired task. They won by 6 wickets with 8 overs to spare.
