Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club (RHLCC) will bowl off it’s 2018 Eastern American Cricket Association (EACA) cricket season on Sunday, May 13th with a home game against Scorpions Cricket Club at The Cricket Cage. The 2017 EACA 40-Overs runners-up, RHLCC, wrapped up its pre-season games with strong individual performances lead by Joel Boodhoo and Altaaf Habibulla leading with bat and ball respectively.

RHLCC started the year with a couple of games in Sarasota, Florida. Skipper, Trinson Carmichael, Dominique Rikhi and Naresh Rambhros showed good form with the bat down south. Carmichael scored a century and Rikhi and Rambhros scored a half-century each. The team picked up its warm-up activities in early April playing a total of eight games leading up to Sunday’s season opener.

The talented twenty-year-old Joel Boodhoo ended up as the runs leader scoring a noteworthy 258 runs in just four innings which included a century and an unbeaten half-century. Rambhros followed his 50 in Florida with 179 runs in the pre-season which included two half-centuries. Terrence Madramootoo, returning back to the fold for RHLCC, was also among the runs with 216 in 5 innings. Habibulla and Carmichael have also shown some great form to round out the top five batting performers.

Habibulla, who was the top T20 bowler for RHLCC in 2017, continued where he left off scalping 9 wickets in the 2018 season build-up. Pacemen Jamiel Jackman and Keifer Phill finished with 8 and 6 wickets respectively. Returning from an injury which kept him out of the T20 tournament in 2017, Leon Mohabir has also picked up 6 wickets as did 15-year old Moien Khan and brother Inzy Khan.

The RHLCC season gets going at 1 PM on Sunday, May 13th when opposition Scorpions CC will be keen to make a strong impression in their first appearance in the EACA 1st Division. #TheBlueNation boys will be looking to make an impression of their own in making another push for the coveted EACA title.
