Richmond Hill Liberty scored notched up another winning weekend in the New York National Cricket League’s Premier competitions this past Saturday and Sunday. Randy Boodhoo, on Saturday, and Christopher Blucher, on Sunday, struck half-centuries to lead the batting while Leon Mohabir picked up a four-wicket haul and Andrew Tomby bagged 3 wickets to lead the bowling over the weekend. Michael ‘Jimmy’ Sultan turned in a fine all-round performance scoring 40 and picking up two wickets. The wins secured playoff spots for Richmond Hill Liberty on both days.
ON SATURDAY: RHL vs NY Zalmi
Richmond Hill Liberty CC displayed a dominant performance, securing a commanding 111-run victory over NYZalmi CC in the NYNCL Rockaway Premier Division Saturday 2023 match on August 12, 2023.
Electing to bat first, Richmond Hill Liberty CC posted a challenging total of 217 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 30 overs. Randy Boodhoo emerged as the star performer with a well-crafted 53 runs off 45 deliveries, which included 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. Satish Dwarka’s unbeaten 46 off 49 balls and Michael Sultan’s brisk 41 off 24 balls provided valuable momentum to the innings. Zeeshan (zee) Ahmed was the standout bowler for NYZalmi CC, claiming 3 wickets for 24 runs.

ON SUNDAY: RHL vs NY Titans
In a thrilling encounter, Richmond Hill Liberty CC clinched victory by 3 wickets against New York Titans in the New York National Cricket League 40 Overs Premier competition on August 13, 2023.
New York Titans started their innings with a rather modest total of 166 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 35.5 overs. Zalal Hussain Jamil’s resilient knock of 42 runs off 45 deliveries and Hasib Absar’s 25 runs were the notable contributions. Leon Mohabir emerged as the star bowler for Richmond Hill Liberty CC, securing 4 wickets for 42 runs. The disciplined bowling attack, led by Leon Mohabir and Samuel Raghubir, helped Richmond Hill Liberty CC to limit New York Titans’ scoring opportunities.
Chasing a target of 167 runs, Richmond Hill Liberty CC faced a few early setbacks but managed to keep their composure. Christopher Blucher’s impressive performance turned the tide in their favor as he scored a brilliant half-century, accumulating 51 runs off 52 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
